Imagine if you could put far less effort into your dating life and get much greater results.
There is an absolutely amazing phenomena called fractionation which can make the above turn from an amazing dream into reality. The concept is actually quite simple and so is applying it practically. You’ve probably never heard of fractionation before in the context we will be discussing and if you have then I wouldn’t be surprised if you know a thing or two about hypnosis. Don’t worry if you don’t believe in hypnosis since that is only where I originally learned this amazing skill. You may have ever heard of something called kino escalation which actually implements the concept of fractionation and for that reason gets excellent results.
What is Fractionation?
Fractionation – The act of first associating or anchoring a response to a specific action followed by repetition spaced out over time causing a stronger and stronger reaction each time it is triggered.
Having mentioned anchoring we will also define what an anchor is and then do a fun little exercise to see fractionation in action.
Anchor - An anchor is an association of an action with a response. In other words it is a link which connects an action and a response. Just like a real anchor used to keep a ship from drifting away; an anchor trains your brain to respond in a certain way to a specific stimulus.
While fractionation may be a foreign concept to you, you can be certain you have experienced it throughout your life without even knowing. Anchors are a much simpler concept which you probably put to good use if you have ever used mnemonics. Mnemonics are techniques for helping you remember important information more easily with a much smaller amount of effort compared to repetition.
A Fun Fractionation Exercise
Before doing the action we first need to decide on an anchor to create. Remember to keep in mind that the stronger the response is at the time of the stimulus the stronger the association will be. On top of that fractionation is a strategy to increase the strength of an anchor.
Anchor – When touching your right ear think of the name Ditto Effect
Stimulus – Using your right hand you will touch your right ear.
Response – Remember the name Ditto Effect.
Now that we have defined our anchor take a moment and touch your right ear and while touching your right ear think to yourself “Ditto Effect” then stop touching your ear.
Doing this should create the anchor.
Fractionation from here is quite easy. Essentially you simply need to wait a short time then repeat the same process you used to create the anchor.
Try waiting 20 to 30 seconds and repeat the above and do this 3 to 5 times.
Hopefully now you should have in your head “Ditto Effect”. This should be associated with the action of touching your right ear.
Doing this is called fractionating a response. After completing this exercise try touching your right ear an hour later and notice if you find it easy to recall “Ditto Effect”.
