Question by : How exactly do student loans work?
I live in the UK, and am wondering about student loans. I understand that I will need to take one out to cover tuition fees, and this will be paid straight to the university, but am I able to take out another, since I have heard there is the option to, to cover living costs. But will I still be able to take one out if I am commuting from home, since transport isn’t exactly cheap.

I’m not sure how it works in the UK but in the US I apply for financial aid and the government gives me a certain amount of money in the form of loans/grants. Any money that is left over after tuition is paid I can use for living costs.
