if you guys talk at school, you could text her saying, ‘you looked really cute/pretty today.’
or give her a different compliment. like, if you hugged her, you could say she smelled nice, or tell her her hair looked really good. girls love hearing things like this, especially since we spend so much time on hair, and looking nice.
